Sadly last weeks episode, although still fun, was nowhere near as strong as the two episodes that came before it. So here is me hoping that this iteration hasn't lost its way already and it'll get back on its feet with this episode!
And let me tell you, today's episode more than satisfied, so much so I barely have anything to say other than me praising everything. Our focus today is on Black and although Souji is a bland character with an even blander back story, Ian manages to feel utterly refreshing as he gets to be a total badass this week and his back story is really cool. Although yes, it is all a little corny. Basically I really like Ian, he is an absolute badass.
It is also focused, somewhat, on the team as a whole as Ian is the final piece to establishing the core team before the sixth ranger comes along. Due to everyone having huge, flashy attacks, having all of them on screen at once can feel a little chaotic and disorganised and I guess time will tell as to whether this is a deliberate device to show the team is still learning one another or whether the action sequences are just a poorly choreographed nightmare. Either way, despite this, there is something really likeable about the team as a whole and it warms your heart to see them fighting together.
The likeability of the team as a whole is probably the reason why the action really feels like it got its muster back this week, after feeling oddly flat and somewhat bland last week. We get a huge variation of action within the twenty minutes or so running time, with some awesome stunts, some insane powers and half of this is done without them even transforming. It just all looks great, the special effects are fantastic and it is flashy as hell. The effects sadly aren't nearly as good when it comes to the ZyuDenRyu but even the crappy CGI couldn't hold back some of the most fantastic Zord action I've seen to date.
This weeks villain is Debo Doronbus...who is a really good thief? Minus being a device for Ian to have lots of cool moments, he doesn't really do a lot. This is odd considering he was given a 'Cape of Invincibility' by one of the generals. Then again this is the same show that featured a starting villain who wiped out the dinosaurs single handedly who was also defeated about ten minutes later. Doronbus' design was cool though.
Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger is more than back on form, this weeks episode featured some of the best action yet both in and out of suits and zords, Ian is an absolute badass and it was completely uplifting to see them working together as a team. I loved the shit out of this episode, I love this team and I'm back to feeling an excited passion for where this series is going to go next.

Pros;
- Ian is fucking awesome.
- Seeing these guys fighting side by side makes you feel awesome.
- Excellent action again.
- I really like the monster designs, this iteration.
Cons;
- As much as I love seeing the team fighting together, Souji is by far the least interesting out of the group.
- With everyone basically having finishing moves as their standard attacks, it can get a little too chaotic on screen sometimes.
- Despite some cool designs, the villains this iteration have been really really rubbish. It'd be easy to ignore but they each get huge hype and then...don't really do anything.
Think About It!
