The Batman vs Dracula.

I know it has been a week since I've written a review, I have been watching movies but with friends and the like so I haven't got around to reviewing them. Most of them were pretty average anyway. It has been a while during this 31 Days thing that a horror film has jumped out at me. The last one was probably Session 9. But if you want a film recommendation go catch Real Steel in the cinemas, it is made for it.

This movie is boring. Plain and simply it's the biggest problem. It's slow, not a whole load happens, it's a DC animated movie, so despite quite a lot of blood for an animated venture, it has to be as tame as possible with the vampire lore and ultimately it just isn't particularly interesting.

Dracula himself is fun. The voice actor sucks and they decided to go for the hardcore classic lore, garlic, crosses and sunlight so I was rather put off by that. But in himself, it's nice to see a vampire with actual superpowers rather than to be there simply to look pretty. And The Batman always has a great art style and action direction, so you know the fights between him and Bats are gonna be great. And they really are.

Basically the Penguin and the Joker escape Arkham Asylum in search of a mob treasure. The Joker dies on the way. Or at least we think he does. I have no idea why this was included or what the point of this was, it goes nowhere and has no importance at all. And The Penguin manages to instead resurrect Dracula instead of getting the treasure. I mean resurrecting Dracula by accident? Could you fuck up any more than that? Chaos ensues when Dracula begins turning all of Gotham into vampires but luckily Batman had recently built a solar power generator conductor thingy which he uses to take Dracula down...oh Bats, your only power is convenience.

Also this movie has a vampire Joker, yeah you didn't read that wrong. A vampire fucking Joker! And yeah I know the Joker in The Batman is a bit shitty, but I'm just happy we got a fucking vampire Joker!

So do I recommend this? The animation and the action are top notch, as is consistent with this series. But if you are one of the many The Batman haters, this film is unlikely to change your mind. For everyone else, there are a lot worse animated features out there to kill an hour and twenty minutes. Wow, my shortest review ever?

Think About It!
