Once again, despite the ending, Session 9 was still a prime example of horror done right in pretty much every conceivable way. It had no cheap tactics, it was just a well conceived atmosphere. This film however is a prime example of horror done wrong in nearly every conceivable way. I mean when a film's closing shot is a jump scare, you know you have a real piece of shit on your hands.
Seriously though, for a movie which relies on jump scares alone to provide the horror (one of the tumours growing on the cancerous body that is the modern horror genre), they could have done a much better job on them. Aside from a few times when the volume is turned up to the point the movie is screaming at you, the jump scares don't even make you jump. Like one scene, where the ghost girl (who is more like a zombie) appears in a window as someone walks passed and makes this little growl and it just all looks so goofy I actually laughed.
When the film isn't failing at jump scares, it's doing nothing. There is like a mystery plot about a girl called Alice who is killed by the girls on the ward, then comes back from the dead and kills them one by one. But to be calling it a mystery gives the plot WAY too much credit. Plus the unsurprising twist reveal towards the end makes this entire plot fucking pointless anyway.

Okay, so what is the obvious twist? Well what do you think, it's about a mental patient battling a ghost? Yup it's all in their head and all the characters are split personalities (except the staff). Surprised? Nope? Neither was anyone else...
It's slow, boring and entirely fucking pointless. Amber Heard gets a shower scene, but she never shows her boobies any more, I only watch her movies for the hope of her tits, because all she's ever in these days is shit. Actually I think every film she's ever been in has been shit. Except Drive Angry, that was fun. And before that creates a backlash, I'd watch her for her acting talent, if she could you know...act. She exploits herself, she isn't exploited.
And no there were no scenes that stood out or any of that. I hated this movie. This movie is horrible.
So do I recommend this? FUCK NO. It isn't like the anger inducing shittiness that I've seen from movies in the past. It's just dull, formulaic, cliched and totally wastes a chance to get the gorgeous Amber Heard to flash her baps.
